- The Competition Secretary organises a full calendar of competitions that all members (with handicaps) can compete in. These competitions range from monthly strokeplay competitions (medals) through texas scrambles to summer & winter singles and pairs knockout competitions.
- The Social Secretary organises a number of entertainment evenings that are well advertised in advance, and cater for many tastes in music and comedy. The quiz evenings are particularly popular.
- A complete and up to date copy of the Constitution, Rules and Bye-Laws is displayed on the Club noticeboard - some relevant excerpts follow.
- The Committee comprises: Captain, Vice-Captain (Captain Elect) / Competition Secretary, Ladies Captain, Seniors Captain, Committee & Handicapping Secretary, Social Secretary, Treasurer, Management Representative and 3 additional Elected Members. Click on Committee to see who is who.
- Any member may put themselves forward for election to the Club Committee. Rule 5 deals with the nomination and election of Committee Officers which normally takes place at the AGM in October/ November each year. Rule 9 deals with AGM business
- The full Committee meets once a month, normally on the last Friday of the month. Any member may attend any Committee Meeting (Rule 2) - please let the Committee Secretary know in advance that you wish to attend though.
- There are Ladies and Seniors sections within the Club, each of which have their own Captain and committee
- The disciplinary powers of the Committee are outlined in Rule 16
- R&A Rules shall be observed in all matches and competitions
- The rules governing handicaps are set out in the Standard Scratch Score and Handicapping Scheme 1983 administered by the Council of National Golf Unions (CONGU). The Committee has delegated powers (from the English Golf Union through the Somerset Golf Union) to make and adjust handicaps under the terms of the Scheme
- Dogs are not allowed on the course or in the clubhouse
- Bye-Law (b)1 covers dress standards which all users of the course are expected to adhere strictly to
- Members are expected to be familiar with normal golfing etiquette, particularly with regard to slow play, raking bunkers and replacement of divots.
