A hugely successful day raising over £1000 for the Captains Charity (Downs Syndrome Association). The days competition was won by Mike Marshall with 43 points. The day proved to be a great family day out with a BBQ and fun and games throughout the day. Keep an eye out for next year!

A close contest over the two days ended with Ian Brice retaining his title. A two round total of 147 (72,75) was good enough to beat close rival Stuart Nimmo by 3 shots. Ian will go forward to represent Stockwood Vale in the Izzo Club Champions Trophy.

In perfect playing conditions Ian Brice, the reigning champion, shot a one over par 72 in the first round and held a two shot lead over Stuart Nimmo. On the Sunday the second round was played in a stiff breeze with Ian shooting a 75 against Stuart's 76 for a championship winning total of 147.

The Ladies' championships was won by Lesley Moore, the defending champion, who shot rounds of 88 and 89, for a total of 177. She was pushed all the way by Alison Thomas who fired 85 and 99 on the second day in the stiff breeze.

Another successful Ladies Open with over 120 visitors. This years open winner was Stockwood Vale's Lesley Moore. A great day enjoyed by all those who took part, thanks to Pat Shaw and the Ladies Committee.

Heavy rain greeted the Captains from several of our local golf clubs. The event was reduced to a 15 hole competition, yet, despite the weather the day was enjoyed by all those who took part.
