Update on New Course Investment in 2007

This has been an extremely wet summer and as result the grass has continued to grow at an extraordinary rate as if everyday were Spring. Consequently the green staff have spent the whole Summer cutting grass, which has left precious little time for other tasks such as completing our paths; building new tees and building the new putting green.

Update on Paths
We are well aware that the new paths, particularly the ones on the 2nd, 4th and 13th are bumpy. We will continue to roll these areas and when the grass ceases to grow at the end of the autumn we will rake off the excess stone and place a binding layer on the top to make the surfaces smoother. Part of the path on the 2nd will probably have to be concreted.

We will also be building three new paths, one around the 17th tee, one on the 13th and another between the 15th green and the 1st tee.

Can we suggest that if you find the paths on the 2nd and 4th uncomfortable, that you walk on the grass just to the side.

Update on New Tees
Currently, we are finishing the new tee on the 15th and will shortly start work on the new 17th tee. We also hope to complete the new championship tee on the 12th and the new tee on the 16th this year.

New Putting Green
The new putting green has been built to USGA specification so that it will drain and perform properly. As you can see the area is significantly larger than the one it replaced and the green should be in use in the spring.
