Winter course renovations
Each winter the green staff undertake planned renovations to tees, paths, trees, bunkers, fencing and irrigation.
As ever this winter we have a long list of items that we will tackle which include all of the above. However, for those of you who are concerned we will be re-levelling the paths on the fourth and the thirteenth holes.

Pitch Mark Alert
Please help us to keep the greens looking great all winter. A pitch mark repaired immediately recovers within a day or two, however, a pitch mark not repaired, or repaired badly, can take up to three weeks to recover.
If you can't find your pitch mark we would be extremely grateful if you would repair one that someone else has made.

Essential Maintenance on the Greens
The greenstaff carried out essential maintenance to the greens earlier this week. The putting surfaces have been simultaneously scarified and injected with 52 tons of top dressing sand. This annual scarification is done to remove thatch, which is dead grass and other dead organic matter. This is an essential operation which guarantees good drainage and healthy greens. In the short term this procedure adversly impacts upon the surfaces but the greens will recover over the next few weeks.
We would like to thank the following members who hugely helped Stockwood Vale Golf Club this week with the maintenance. Many, many thanks to Jeremy Baker, Tim Frazer, Martin Walters, Terry Walsh, Arrun Brice, Simon Mattock and Clive Oldfield.
