 Facebook message from Andrew Pearce – Season 2022 Thanks for all the good wishes for the Seniors Avalon inter-divisional final today, which was held at The Mendip, vs Isle of Wedmore. Unfortunately, they proved to be our bogey side again, and they ran out 4-1 winners in the end. They were the only side that we didn’t beat (at their course) over the whole of the rest of the season. Despite the disappointment of coming second in this, it has still been a superb season for everyone associated with the Avalon Seniors team: 11 wins out of 12 to win the North division by nearly 30 points; winning the Shackleford Trophy (best points per game average over all 10 Avalon divisions), plus getting to this final. In no previous year did we even get higher in the division than 3rd place (last year), so this was a huge step up from then. I’m really proud of how everyone in the squad has pulled together and supported each other in getting the best team possible out for each match. If you’re a Senior, and interested in playing in these matches then look out for the signing up option in HDIDO early next year. |
